Furniture Workshop Ecommerce Volunteer

Location: Liverpool

When: 10:00 - 15:30, 1 day per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays

We are looking for enthusiastic e-commerce volunteers to support our furniture business based in Merseyside. This role involves creating listings for our eBay site to promote and sell items that have been created/ upcycled in our workshop and would suit those with an interest in photography, interior design and developing copywriting skills to help us tell the stories behind our pieces. The role also offers a fun and creative way to contribute to Crisis fundraising, as all profits made from the sales of our furniture are used to fund year-round services for our members. 

  • Confidence using or willing to learn to use Microsoft office  
  • Experience of or willing to learn to use e-commerce sites, e.g., eBay  
  • Experience of taking photographs for online platforms or a willingness to learn basic photography skills
  • Basic writing skills to create little stories about the different pieces of furniture
  • A background or interest in e-commerce/lifestyle products
  • Good time keeping and interpersonal skills
  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness
  • Have a creative and flexible approach
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries 
  • Experience in an exciting e-commerce business
  • Induction to your role and on the job training  
  • The opportunity to share and develop existing skills with staff and volunteers

  • A platform for building confidence in e-commerce business and online selling 
  • A reference from a reputable organisation (for character reference min. three months of volunteering)  
  • Staging and taking photographs of furniture for online listings
  • Writing descriptions for online listings
  • Responding to customers queries
  • Supporting the workshop supervisor with E-Commerce activities  
  • Creating relevant content for our social media channels
  • Supporting with fulfilment of orders
