Group Facilitator Volunteer for Multi Cultural Crisis group (MCC)

Location: London

When: Tuesdays 11:30-1 30 (TBC)

Role reports to: Volunteer Coordinator

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

Making a real difference in the lives of our members by helping them build social networks, improve wellbeing and build confidence as part of our member group. You will do this arranging varying activities each month, in partnership with the staff team. Activities could include: introductions to Crisis' Sessions, timetable reviews and guest speakers from local specialist services.   




  • Have an excellent knowledge of issues effecting the BAME community and how disproportionately end up homeless.

  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use the internet, email and Microsoft Office and online flatforms such as zoom.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with a particular focus on listening

  • Good time-keeping and reliability

  • Non-judgmental, patient and friendly

  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries

  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness

* This role will be mostly online with one monthly face to face meeting.

  • Working as part of team to create a bank of information for members.
  • Researching in to local and national organisations that can support members from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Working to create online newsletter and other activities that promote cultural diversity.
  • Support setting up and facilitating group for member.
  • Facilitate a monthly forum for members.
  • Encourage the members take an active part in the forum.
  • Coordinate guest speakers and member attendance for monthly meetings
  • Motivate members of all abilities to take part in activities

  • If applicable, to help set up equipment before the group and help clear up equipment after the forum has finished

  • Feedback any challenges or opportunities that arise during session to the staff team

  • Collate member feedback from the forum



We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times.
