Art/events Volunteer/Dalston Shop

Role reports to: Shop Manager

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

Supporting Shop from Crisis spreading awareness on how to end homelessness. You will do this by working on art projects (murals, street art, boards, other) and events and using your creativity and skills to make our shop look amazing and attractive, making sure our events run smoothly and engage our community, therefore helping us spreading the word!

 

  • An understanding of people’s likes and how you can best promote Crisis to them through your art
  • Ability to follow instructions and also take initiative 
  • Flexibility in terms of the project you are working on
  • Will to help with different tasks if needed
  • Friendly and confident in talking to a range of people 
  • Good time-keeping and reliability 
  • Non-judgmental, patient and friendly 
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries 
  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness 

 

  • The opportunity to help spreading awareness on how to help Crisis ending homelessness for good

  • Ad hoc working on artistic projects such as creating a graffiti on the shop wall, decorate the café window, paint A boards, create posters for events
  • Publicise the work of Crisis at events by talking to people and distributing promotional material 
  • Help running events smoothly and engaging the community
  • Be available for the duration of the project
  • Help the running of the shop

 

We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times. 

  • Travel and lunch expenses are reimbursed where appropriate
