E-commerce Product Listing Volunteer

Location: London

When: At least 4 hours a week for a minimum of 1 month. Our E-commerce hub is open Mon-Fri between 9-5pm.

Role reports to: Coordinator

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

volunteering in our E-commerce hub generating new product listings to help maximise the income we raise for our preloved donated goods. Every item sold is unique, and all funds raised help Crisis support people on their journeys out of homelessness.

  • A keen interest in fashion retail.
  • Previous experience working on an online selling platform would be advantageous but not essential.  
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Basic I.T skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and boundaries in a professional environment.
  • A commitment to comply with Crisis policies, including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.

  • Creating new product listings for sale using our online listing tool.
  • Inputting information captured in our product inventory sheets through simple text boxes and drop drown menus.
  • Writing detailed descriptions of each item with close attention to its condition.
  • Researching fashion in external organisations to help with our own product listings.
  • Ensuring all products are assigned to the relevant category and site filters.
  • Optimising listings by incorporating SEO and Google advertisement requirements to improve search engine position.
  • Following inventory sheet workflows and highlighting any further condition issues missed at an earlier stage of product processing.
