Digital Photography Volunteer

Location: London

When: 1 month minimum, between 1 to 3 days per week, 4 - 6 hours a day

Role reports to: Shop Manager

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

Photographing fashion garments and accessories to suppport income generation. Crisis shops, Cafés and products also raise our profile with new audiences and provide opportunities for our Members, through volunteering and our accredited training programmes, enabling them to gain work experience in various aspects of the retail and hospitality sectors, build self-confidence and be active in their local communities.

 

  • A solid knowledge on how to operate a professional camera or one of our phones to produce high quality pictures 
  • Aptitude to work with both flatlay displays and mannequin presentations
  • Know-how of image uploading and simple software editing
  • Some experience and/or a keen interest in fashion retail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others,  follow instructions and as part of a team 
  • Enthusiasm, patience and respect for others
  • Good timekeeping, attendance and communication skills
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries in professional environment  
  • Complete induction to the photography role

  • Support and training to develop customer focused online experience
  • References for prospective employers (min.of 3 months for character reference)
  • Photographing fashion garments and accessories with the help of a high-quality phone/camera (both flat lays and mannequins)
  • Adjusting the lighting to ensure best results
  • Enhancing/Retouching main pictures with a simple software (demonstration provided)
  • Uploaded pictures on cloud
